Transfer a Thai Visa Stamp From an Old Passport to a New Passport

According to Thai immigration laws, the entry/exit stamps and Thai visas are required to be transferred into new passports. Once you receive your new passport, please visit any Thai immigration office to have your visa stamp transferred.

Required Documents

If you flew into Thailand with your new passport and it has both Exit Stamp from your country of origin and an Entry Stamp into Thailand

  1. Visa Stamp Transfer Form dully filled out.
  2. A photocopy every page of your old passport including the latest entry stamp and last visa extension.
  3. A photocopy of the ID page in the new passport.
  4. A photocopy of the latest entry stamp in the new passport
  5. New passport and old passport.
  6. A photocopy of TM.6 Card. (if available)
  7. Additional documents (see conditions below)

If you received the new passport without leaving Thailand, additional documents from the Embassy are required to certify that it is indeed an original passport.

  1. A letter from the Embassy of Madagascar in Beijing certifying that it is an original passport. A copy of the passport ID page is to be attached with this letter 
  2. This letter needs to be legalized at the Thai Embassy in Beijing. A staff of the Malagasy Embassy is required to bring the documents along with a request letter addressed to the Thai Embassy in Beijing. That person also has to be the one collecting the documents once the legalization process is done.
  3. The legalization process at the Thai Embassy costs 250RMB. Please coordinate with the Embassy of Madagascar's staff on how to transfer the fees required by the Thai Embassy and for the postage of your documents to Thailand. 

Process: Download and fill in the templates above with your information (Certification Letter & Request for Legalization) and email them to the Embassy of Madagascar in Beijing so that they can afix the Embassy seal and bring them for processing at the Embassy of Thailand.
