Effective from 11 August 2022, all COVID-19 testing requirements for entry are lifted. Travelers are are no longer required to provide pre-departure RT-PCR tests, and are not required to perform a rapid antigen test (ATK) upon arrival in Madagascar.

Negative result of an RT-PCR test
Presentation of a negative RT-PCR test performed 72 hours before boarding

Rapid antigen test on arrival
Perform a rapid antigen test upon arrival in Madagascar, at the traveler’s expense (20 USD / 15 EUR)

Positive result to the rapid antigen test on arrival
In case of a positive result to the rapid antigen test on arrival, a self-isolation of at least 7 days will be served in a dedicated facility, at the traveler’s expense.

Are vaccinated people affected by these mandatory measures?
The requirements for travel to Madagascar apply to all passengers without exception.

If we have to present a negative test result taken 72 hours before boarding, why is it necessary to make a rapid antigen test when arriving in Antananarivo?
As a precautionary measure, these are the procedures currently in place.

Is the 20$ for the rapid antigen test included in the ticket price?
No. Temporarily, the price of the rapid antigen test is to be paid upon arrival in Madagascar in cash or by credit card. If passengers pay in cash in foreign currencies, they should produce the exact amount. Otherwise, change will be given only in Ariary at the exchange rate for that day.

Is it necessary to have an RT-PCR test on return?
The RT-PCR test on return depends on the health measures in force in the destination country. Covid test fee for non-residents leaving Madagascar: 290.000 Ariary for the RT-PRC test and 100.000 Ariary for the antigen rapid detection test. Covid test fee for residents leaving Madagascar: 100.000 Ariary for the RT-PRC test and 50.000 Ariary for the antigen rapid detection test.

What are the terms of payment for the VISA?
The Visa is payable upon arrival at the airport of Antananarivo or in the embassies of Madagascar in the countries of departure.
30 Days: 37 USD / 35 EUR
60 Days: 45 USD / 40 EUR
Note: You can extend your tourist visa for up to a total of 90 days
